His 2002 book ‘Philip Brennan’s CLARE’ is devoted to the life and times of his native County Clare in the west of Ireland. The 2006 pubication ‘Philip Brennan’s WANDERINGS’ is based on the passing of the year and covers a wide range of subjects both in Ireland and abroad, from flora and fauna to landscape, seascape and human-inspired topics. Both books are a combination of painting and text.
All paintings and books featured can be purchased via the web-site.
The cd, ‘TOBARTAOSCAN’ is Philip’s latest artistic venture. He has been singing unaccompanied Irish traditional and folk songs from many countries since the early 1990’s. He has guested on group recordings and at singing clubs such as An Goilin in Dublin and at the Roscommon, Nenagh and Ennis clubs, and at festivals like the Ennistymon Singing Festival and the Clare Fleadh. He is a founder member of the Ennis Singing Circle. This is his first cd.
'CLARESCAPES' is a new exhibition of recent work. It takes in a variety of themes from County Clare, from storms and snowy weather, summer coasts to music session, birds, mammals, seasons and history. Most of the paintings are in watercolour with some inks and acrylic used.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday, March 20th at 8pm at the Great hall of
the Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis (there will be a preview from 6pm). The
exhibition runs until the evening of Friday, March 22nd.
